My name is Ilan  Bar , I am 59 years of age , dwell 35 years in Benyamina,,married and father to 4  boys, deal to my living in computers.

Benyamina is pastoral moshava, situated in the heart a Bikaat Hnadiv valley , located near Zichron Yaakov, and famous in her vineyards and in her qualitative wineries.

Benyamina was founded by the year of 1922 and between its founder was also my grandfather Pinchas Glas,who arrived with a group of people that were called '' the Dutch group '', and their goal was to sit on lands of the Baron Rotshild and to cultivate agricultural increases.

And how arrived a man whose occupation is computers, to the wine maker, you ask?
Well, accidental meeting, in the railway station of Benyamina., with a friend that learned with me in high school  in Beer Sheva, his name is  Moshe Jean and I have never seen him for  20 years. he invited me to his house, and proudly demonstrated his Demugan ( tank from glass of 54 liter ) of red wine, that he prepared himself.

After I tasted from his ignited wine, I started the expedition that continued until today. ( I still guard the Demugan ).

In January 1991 I started to do wine from oranges with that corrosive disobedience, tried also with berries, apricots, peaches. After I felt  confidence  I moved  to grapes. As you know wine is made from grapes, by law. I passed many stages until I arrived to the level that people drank the wine, enjoy it very and even bought it.

I acquired the knowledge by means of personal instruction from books , and from help of known wine makers that shares their knowledge with me . Among them are:Yair Margolite, wineries of Benyamina and more good people.

The road to making wine was not easy but I enjoy every moment of action.

The winery was founded in a structure in the domestic yard. It calls '' bar winery ''. the winery manufactures wines from feedings : Cabernet  Souvinion, Shradonay,  Merlot, Shiraz, Carignan. in the last years I focused in vineyards in our local area and joined the vine grower Sharia Vered,and together we do price worthy wine.

Additional singularity is in the personal contact that each  wine bottle get through the whole process of wine making.

The amount of the bottles move between 500 to 2000 in a year. the wine is sold to friends by the method of “ friend brings a friend “and the cost is  really surprising.

Just now the winery is situated in the passage to other place in Benyamina.
